Measuring your lingerie size
To determine the correct lingerie size, two circumference measurements are needed: the measurement under the bust and the measurement over the bust.
The correct lingerie size can then be determined using the table below.
Measure the circumference under the bust (underbust width) and determine the circumference size
Measure the circumference over the bust (bust width) and determine the cup size
Are there creases in the cups or are the cups too far away from the breast?
First check whether the torsolet is pulled down at the back properly so that the cups at the front fit nicely. Do the cups still not fit properly? Then the cups are probably too big. To solve this, you can use push-up cups or order a smaller cup size with the same circumference/underbust width.
Do the underwires press under your arms or do your breasts rise above the cup?
Then the cup size is probably too small. If the underwires are too far from the body, the cups are also too small. In this case, choose a larger cup size with the same size/underbust width.
Is your bra band cutting into your back or is it creeping up?
Then your underbust width is probably too large or too small. In this case, use a different underbust width, but also a different cup. As the underbust width gets bigger or smaller, the cup also gets bigger or smaller! Example: At 85C, the cup is good, but the circumference is too small. Then take a 90B (and not a 90C). After all, a 90B has the same cup as an 85C, only the underbust width is large
Does the lingerie size not exist? (Use an extender).
Lingerie from Poirier is available from 70A to 110F (single items). It is possible that the desired size is not included.
Possible solutions:
- Use a Poirier extender as a spacer to increase the (underbust) width. For example: 100A = 95B + extender.
- Determine an alternative size. For example, for 80G, use an 85F.
- Use push-up cups when the underbust width is right, but the cup is too big. For example: 90A = 90B + push up cup.
- Foam products can be sewn into the dress.
- Are you unsure about the size A/B or B/C? Look at the table 'circumference over the bust' and choose the cup size that best fits your circumference over the bust. (Step 2 bust width).
Extender:
- Easy to use to increase the size of a bustier, torsolette or bra.
- Available in four sizes from H-01 to H-13 (the number represents the number of hooks and eyes)
